CITY GOVERNMENT PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT WORKSHOP OFFERED TO LITTLE ROCK RESIDENTS
(Wednesday, May 6, 2009) – The City of Little Rock is offering a Performance Measurement Workshop. According to Dr. David Sink who is coordinating the sessions, “The goal of this intensive workshop is to develop measurements of performance to help municipal departments improve their service delivery.”
The workshops are scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 28, and June 4 from 6pm to 8pm. The classes will be held at the Willie L. Hinton Neighborhood Resource Center, located at Pine and 12th Streets. The classes are open to all Little Rock residents, but participants must attend all three sessions. The class is limited to 15 participants.
There is no registration fee, and a light dinner will be served each evening at 5:30pm.
Citizen input into which services are evaluated and compared is a relatively new dimension to performance measurement. Not only are government officials asking, “How are we doing?” but want to know, “How we are doing on issues that are important to city residents.”
By developing this partnership between service providers and consumers, Little Rock’s residents are helping local government be accountable. By participating in this workshop, you are helping Little Rock government be responsive to your needs and to make tough budgetary decisions.
Contact Toya Robinson in the city manager’s office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 371-4788 to register.
