Divisions
The Building Codes Division issues building permits, reviews building plans and conducts inspections of construction projects. The building inspectors, plans examiners and building officials of the City of Little Rock make up this Division.
The Planning Division reviews the Land Use Plan, Master Street Plan, Historic Preservation, Statistical reviews and Geographic Information System (GIS) requests. The Division provides the primary staff support for the Little Rock Historic Commission, River Market and Midtown Redevelopment Board. Neighborhood Plans are developed by local residents to address important issues within their area. The Planning Division facilitates this effort. Support services to the department for graphic and GIS services are provided by the Planning Division.
The Subdivision and Zoning Division reviews rezoning applications, subdivision plats, zoning interpretations, landscaping review, site plan reviews, sign and zoning enforcement. The Division provides the primary staff support for the Little Rock Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and City Beautiful Commission.
