Few of us realize how easily — and how quickly — fire can harm our loved ones. Fortunately, there is a simple, affordable way to help prevent this from happening: the smoke alarm. The Little Rock Fire Department was awarded a grant that will provide smoke alarms, as well as carbon monoxide alarms, to the citizen's of Little Rock at no charge.
Fire Corps, a national organization that utilizes a volunteer base to assist fire departments with various non-emergency functions, will conduct home safety checks, install these important life saving devices and will assist in conducting some fire safety presentations. In addition, a free home fire safety inspection can be conducted with the installation. Up to three (3) smoke alarms and one (1) carbon monoxide detector per household can be installed, if needed.
