Sister Cities Commission

The Little Rock Sister Cities Commission was created by Ordinance Numbers 16,306 and 16,345.  Its thirteen (13) members serve five (5)-year terms.  The duties of the Commission are to develop guidelines and programs for Sister City relationships with other cities in other countries, to further public awareness of communities throughout the world, emphasizing such things as cultural, historical and economic aspects of the City's adopted Sister Cities. Members are appointed by the Little Rock City Board of Directors and can include City employees and members of the Little Rock City Board of Directors.

Little Rock's sister cities are:

SISTER CITIES:
Kaohsiung, Taiwan (established April 19, 1983)
Hanam City, Korea (established May 19, 1992)
Changchun, China (established April 5, 1994)
Ragusa, Italy (established May 21, 1997)
Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico (established February 20, 2007)

FRIENDSHIP CITIES:
La Petite Pierre, France (established July 19, 1999)
Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, England (established July 24, 1999)

The Sister Cities Commission meets the first Wednesday of each month at 11:30 AM in the Sister Cities Conference Room on the second floor of Little Rock City Hall.
